IRIS MOON is a mystical tale set in a far off country village at some unknown time in the past.  It tells the story of a young girl who learns, through a puppet show, the secret history of her missing mother and father, and the sinister role played by her guardian grandmother, Maka.

IRIS MOON stars Tiger Darrow as Iris, Peyton Hayslip as The Mystery Woman, and Glori Euwers as Maka. This Super-16mm film was shot in the Austin area.

Iskra Valtcheva (writer-director) is a Bulgarian filmmaker based in Austin, TX.  She was lured away from her home country at the age of 18 by a full scholarship from Williams College, where she got her B.A. in Art in 2003.  Iskra is currently pursuing her MFA degree in Film Production at the University of Texas at Austin.  Her first narrative, "Tuber, " played at film festivals in Bulgaria, Canada and the US.

Javier Bonafont (producer) is a producer-director in final months of the MFA program in the UT Film School, having returned to the academic world to help redeem a lengthy stint in Hollywood producing other people's work ("Baby on Board", "Hammer Down").  His recent shorts "The Love Ballad of Scarab Hack," "The Toaster," and his latest, "Annoud's Journey" have played in festivals across the country.
